Lydia was Cassatt's sister and a frequent subject in her paintings. Cassatt lived and studied Impressionism in Paris where she specialized in paintings of women and children and a look into their private lives.

This has a very contemporary illustrative feeling to it. Almost as if Bob Peak created it for one of his paperback or magazine covers. Nice and vibrant.
Actually the work itself, although colorful, is not this vibrant. I believe this jpg was enhanced.
