A Century of Art and Design

Photograph of Viktor Schreckengost by Karen Ollis-Toula c.2000, Collection of Viktor Schreckengost.

Viktor passed away Saturday at the age of 101. He was such an inspiration not only in his art, but his teaching, designs, and pure common sense. I am honored to have known him.

Mr Viktor seems to have been quite a busy man. The photo, to me, really brings out his love of life. But what I really like are his hands. They are almost duplicates of my own! And like Mr Viktor, I keep on smiling and loving life.

It is so sad when the greats finally leave this world. Sorry for your loss. I recently read an interview with Sylvia Sleigh on Brian Sherwin's Myartspace blog. It was a joy to read, but also a reminder that she is in her final years. I believe she is 92 now. It makes me sad to think about it.
