Walking in the Rain

Paris Street, Rainy Day, 1877 by Gustave Caillebotte, The Art Institute of Chicago.
An all time favorite of mine and a lot of visitors to the AIC. I think it is probably the familiarity of the scene even if it is almost 150 years before today, a rainy street is a rainy street.

One of my favorites as well. Love how its placed right at the top of stairway within the AIC.
This has always been one of my favorites, too. I've always loved a good rainy day in early fall.
One of my favourites too.
"Always..." He was fairly unknown till not so very long ago though, of course, he never should have been lost or set aside. He was, in certain works, a better painter than the more famous Impressionists he sponsored.
